The Farmhouse

Village Charm

Beautiful, untouched mountain village just two & a half miles from Bled.

Local shop, restaurant and pub within a few minutes' walk.

"Great house, great views, great location - the village is absolutely lovely."
- Nanao, London

Bohinjska Bela sits just three kilometres from Lake Bled, surrounded by cliff faces and looking out across the famous Bohinjka valley to the mountains beyond. A peaceful local village with stunning views, it's a fantastic place for a country holiday. By the end of the first day you'll be convinced that in an age of mobile phones, traffic jams and train strikes, life doesn't need to be that complicated.

Always important for a self catering holiday, the local shop (the 'Mercator') has just about everything you'll need during your stay. We also have two restaurants in the village, both offering excellent food. The restaurant opposite the train station is well known in the area for serving a great value Sunday lunch and the steak and locally caught trout are both mouth-wateringly good.

Around 50% of Slovenians live in the countryside and once you've been on holiday here it's easy to see why. The scenery is magnificent, especially if you walk up the hill to Kupljenik and look back over the valley. You can cycle round to neighbouring Ribno for some of the best calamari in the country (Pri Dveh Petelinih is the restaurant's name), or just lounge around the Farmhouse and wonder why life has to be so much more stressful back home.
